Crescendo Research was founded by Ben Aldern and Erik Zaro in 2023. The idea was born out of Ben's experience with other tactile audio products that didn't satisfy the desire for a embodied listening experience designed for sharing.
After meeting Erik while working together on another project, their shared passion for music and complementary skillsets made them fast friends. The original concept quickly evolved into a realizable vision that became Crescendo Research.
The first prototypes were built in Erik's garage. Ben and Erik began sharing what they'd built and the response from people who tried it was electric. Knowing they had created special, they quickly moved into a larger space, refining each design as they were built. Crescendo Research is now based in Emeryville, California where all Crescendo products are designed and built in-house by our dedicated team.

Meet Our Founders
Ben's comes from mechanical engineering background and is a Aastartup veteran who has worked across a variety of engineering disciplines including race cars, and robust data platforms. His breadth of engineering skillsets enables him to set a new bar for engineering quality in tactile audio experiences.
Erik is an embedded systems engineer who brings a wealth of experience in high-tech products from medical devices to autonomous robotics systems. As a lifelong musician, Crescendo brings the merging of the two major facets of his life under on roof.
